This policy explains what information Bellynut ("Bellynut", "we", "us") collects when you use the app, how we use it, and who we share it with. It's written in plain language and should be read alongside our Terms of Service.
Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider, Clerk, using Google sign-in. We receive your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile image. We don't see or store your Google password.
When you log a meal, we use AI models to estimate its calories, macros and fibre, identify the whole plant foods it contains, and write a short note on its likely gut-health impact. These estimates are stored alongside the entry as part of your food log.
If you use Bellynut without signing in, your entries and goals are stored only in your browser's local storage — they never reach our servers. Clearing your browser data or switching devices will lose that history. If you later sign in, we copy that local data to your account once, at your request.
We use it to run the core features of the app: estimating nutrition and gut-health impact, tracking your progress against your goals, computing daily and weekly summaries, and keeping your log in sync across sessions once you're signed in. We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell it.
To provide the service, the following processors handle data on our behalf:
Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy terms. We don't share your information with anyone else, except where required by law.
Signed-in entries and goals are kept until you delete them or delete your account. Guest-mode data lives only in your browser and is kept until you clear it or ask us to remove it after you migrate it to an account.
You can delete any entry directly in the app at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at privacy@bellynut.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data (for example, access, correction, or portability) — contact us to exercise them.
Bellynut is not directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
We use reasonable technical measures to protect your data, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do.
