Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Bellynut ("Bellynut", "we", "us"). By using the app, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data.

What Bellynut does

Bellynut helps you log what you eat and drink, and uses AI to estimate calories, macros, fibre and the likely gut-health impact of each entry, alongside plant-variety and macro tracking against goals you set.

Not medical advice

Bellynut is for general informational and educational purposes only. Nutrition estimates, gut-health commentary and plant-variety scoring are generated by AI from your descriptions or photos and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Nothing in the app is medical, dietary or health advice, and it is not a substitute for guidance from a qualified doctor, dietitian or other professional. Always seek professional advice before making decisions about your health, especially if you have a medical condition, allergy or intolerance.

Your account

Signing in is handled through Clerk via Google sign-in. You're responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity under it. You can also use Bellynut without an account ("guest mode"); in that case your data is stored only in your browser, and we're not responsible for data lost when local storage is cleared or you switch devices.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use Bellynut for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that infringes anyone else's rights;
• upload photos or descriptions you don't have the right to share, or that are harmful, abusive or illegal;
• attempt to abuse, overload, reverse-engineer or extract the underlying AI models or infrastructure;
• use the service to generate content unrelated to logging food or drink.

Your content

You keep ownership of the descriptions and photos you submit. By submitting them, you give us permission to process them — including by sending them to the third-party AI providers described in our Privacy Policy — solely to provide the service to you.

Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of Bellynut at any time, and may update these terms from time to time; we'll update the date at the top of this page when we do. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

Termination

You can stop using Bellynut and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you've violated these terms.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Bellynut is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, or for decisions made based on AI-generated estimates or commentary.
